Kim Scott: Leading with inclusivity and safety

This Pride Month, we’re sharing stories from people across Sodexo Australia as part of our Safe to be you campaign.

One of those people is Kim Scott, Assistant Village Manager.

Kim works in remote operations, where people live and work closely together every day. She knows how important it is for teams to feel respectful, welcoming and supportive.

Why it matters on site

When people feel comfortable being themselves, teams work better together.

People communicate more openly. They’re more likely to ask questions, speak up and support each other when needed.

That makes a real difference in FIFO environments, where strong teamwork matters every day.

Kim believes culture is built through small actions — listening properly, treating people with respect and making sure everyone feels included.

Creating better team environments

Psychological safety might sound like a big term, but in practice it’s simple.

It’s about creating workplaces where people feel safe to contribute, share ideas and be themselves without worrying about judgement.

For Kim, those everyday interactions help create stronger and more connected teams across site.

Thank you to our teams

Thank you to Kim for sharing her story this Pride Month.

And thank you to everyone across our villages, operations and support teams who continue helping create workplaces where people feel respected, supported and safe to be you.
