👷🏼 Digging Deeper on Resident Wellness 🪨

The FIFO and mining industry certainly faces unique challenges when it comes to ensuring the health and wellbeing of its employees. Sodexo’s Thrive WFX program takes a holistic approach to the wellbeing of remote workers, with three focus areas: Wellness, Fitness & Experience.

Bronte Kieseker, Health and Lifestyle Coordinator, and Corey Loft, Health & Lifestyle Lead, have left an indelible mark on the industry with their Thrive WFX program at Labona and Camp 6 mining accommodation villages. In consultation with the client and safety teams, the team designed a program that has resulted in a 385% increase in resident engagement with wellbeing, fitness and social activities, and a marked reduction in absenteeism and non-work-related injuries and illnesses.

Through monthly fitness challenges and an exciting calendar of events with mindfulness activities like Paint and Sip nights, entertaining movie nights, social activities like trivia and karaoke, team sports, footy tippy, and more, Corey and Bronte have managed to create a thriving and engaged community of ‘Labona Legends’.

For their incredible efforts, the dynamic Health and Lifestyle duo were recognised as finalists for the 2024 Community Engagement Award Category at the Queensland Mining Association Awards!

The holistic program that both Bronte and I have created for [the client] is something that we are both very proud of and gaining real positive outcomes in the industry. We are excited to continue to drive this momentum and push the envelope of what’s possible to improve Health and Wellness for residents on site.”

– Corey Loft, Lead Health and Lifestyle Coordinator
