“I had worked with employers who made me feel I am ‘invited’ to the party. I had worked with employers who made me feel I am invited and also managed to create an urge in me that I should attend. Never have I felt invited, experienced an urge whilst also realising that I could play my favourite song & start dancing (on a hypothetical note, as I can’t dance) until I progressed through roles within Sodexo. ‘Belong at Sodexo’ means to me that my opinions are valued, my concerns are heard, and my thought process is encouraged. I have been with Sodexo for about 4 years with a bit of a break in between though. During my time at Sodexo, I have been supported by my managers who further helped me become a better manager myself. Being in a client site-based role, it is needless to say a lot of my daily motivation comes from my current client who is understanding and supportive of my work onsite.”

“As I stepped into the vibrant Sodexo office on my first day, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine enthusiasm from my colleagues. Instantly, I sensed a welcoming atmosphere that made me feel like I was part of something special.  From the very beginning, I was encouraged to voice my ideas and contribute to the team’s projects. Whether it was brainstorming new menu concepts or collaborating on event planning, my opinions were valued, and my contributions were celebrated. 
 
But it wasn’t just the work itself that made me feel like I belonged; it was the people I had the privilege of working with every day. Each member of the Sodexo team brought their own unique talents and perspectives to the table, creating a rich tapestry of diversity and camaraderie.  One of the moments that truly solidified my sense of belonging was during a large-scale event we were catering. As we worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure everything ran smoothly, I found myself in awe of the seamless coordination and unwavering support from my colleagues. In that moment, I realized that I was part of something bigger than myself – I was part of a team that was dedicated to delivering exceptional experiences for our clients. 
 
As time went on, my bond with Sodexo only grew stronger. Whether it was the shared lunches in the break room or the impromptu celebrations for milestones achieved, I felt a sense of kinship with my colleagues that transcended the confines of the kitchen. In the end, my journey with Sodexo taught me that belonging is not just about finding a place where you fit in; it’s about finding a community where you can thrive, grow, and make a meaningful impact. And for me, that community will always be Sodexo – a place where I found not only a career but a family.”
