Announcing Sodexo’s latest Apprenticeship graduate
Thomas Dwyer commenced work with Sodexo Remote sites in 2011, as an Apprentice Electrician, with the Olympic Dam Village Maintenance team. While gathering base-level skills and experience, Tom’s apprenticeship journey quickly broadened to incorporate a wider skill set within Certificate III Electrotechnology.
Theoretical training was structured throughout the four year apprenticeship, in blocks of up to two weeks at a time, with Training Prospects SA. Expert supervision and guidance within the Olympic Dam Maintenance team, provided invaluable experience and training. A number of skilled team members helped develop Tom’s training, led by qualified Electricians Brad Dodman and Tim McDonald. Skills were developed in all areas of Electotechnology such as industrial, commercial and domestic electrical work. As Tom’s work performance exceeded expectations, he also received a service award from FM Project Manager Luke Lilburn representing each of Sodexo’s three core values in December 2014 (photographed above).
Graduating from the Apprenticeship earlier than expected, Tom has now gained national accreditation and trade award as fully qualified and licenced Electrician – and has recently been promoted to a permanent role as trade electrician. Please join us in congratulating Thomas on his achievement!
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the apprenticeship, particularly working with such a solid, close-knit maintenance team, who have supported my training every step of the way. Thank you to all the team to helping develop me in different aspects of Electrical work”. Tom Dwyer
