London Calling! Cook for Change Grand Finale
Over the last few months, Sodexo chefs across the globe were part of the Cook For Change challenge. This March, London hosted the Grand Finale of the competition.
One of the participants was our very own, Peter Brass. Before the Grand Finale, he took home the Best Low Waste Recipe award at the APMEA Finals in Shanghai. While Peter didn’t win at the global finals, being a global finalist is an amazing achievement—Peter, you’re a legend in our eyes.
What is the Cook for Change Challenge?
This global competition is all about sustainable cooking. It challenges our chefs to use creativity and discipline to reduce food waste. Peter brought his absolute best to the Regional Finale, showing the world what our team can do.
The Global Winners
- Robert Janse (Netherlands) – Cook for Change Winner
- Gordon Carberry (UK & Ireland) – Culinary Innovation Award

A huge congratulations to all the winners! Their dishes stood out for their creativity, technical mastery, and dedication to advancing sustainable food practices.
Doing Good for Our Environment
At Sodexo, our conviction is that doing good business in a good way has a powerful positive impact on the people we serve daily. This means leading by example and choosing actions that benefit our environment.
Peter’s recognition at the APMEA finals truly highlights our deep commitment to sustainability. Even though he didn’t take home a global trophy, Peter showed that with a little creativity, we can serve fantastic food while protecting our planet. We are so proud of your efforts, Peter—you’re a legend in our eyes!
