Sodexo welcomes another round of VTEC Graduates

Sodexo Australia is committed to supporting Vocational, Training & Employment Centres (VTECs) to deliver sustainable jobs for Indigenous job seekers across Australia. On Tuesday, we held our most recent VTEC graduation event at Sodexo’s Kuditj Corporate Catering & Convention Centre in Perth. The graduation ceremony was proudly attended by Sodexo IFMS Operations Director, Darren Hedley and our valued partners from Generation One, Atwork Australia and South Metropolitan TAFE, along with our VTEC Graduates and their families.
The event started off with a Welcome to Country and performance, followed by a keynote address by Peter Blitz, Operations Manager, AtWork Australia, Michael Burgess of South Metropolitan TAFE, and Darren Hedley, representing Sodexo. The graduates were each presented with their Certification and had an opportunity speak on behalf of their graduating class. After the formalities, the attendees enjoyed yarning over a wonderful afternoon tea catered by the Kuditj team.

VTECs connect Indigenous job seekers with guaranteed jobs and bring together the support services necessary to prepare job seekers for long term employment. This model provides not only a Hospitality Certificate II qualification but guaranteed full time employment upon the completion of the four-month program. We work closely with South Metropolitan TAFE (SMTAFE) who provide training and VTEC Employment Provider AtWork Australia to select the right candidates for the program.
