A Taste of Texas at Byerwen Village

The recent Taste of Texas theme night was a big hit at Byerwen Village outside of Mackay Qld. The team brought some old fashioned Texas hospitality and authentic BBQ to the hungry residents at Byerwen over 2 swings shifts.
Residents enjoyed the ambitious menu including Buttermilk fried chicken, BBQ brisket, sticky pork ribs, jambalaya rice, seafood gumbo, chilli burritos, Alabama corn cobs, Kentucky pecan and avocado salad, bean salad (aka: Georgian caviar) … topped off with classic pumpkin pie.
Sodexo Head Chef Graeme Parnham honed some new skills during his Global Chef tour in USA, during which he learned to cook authentic Texan cuisine. See video from the US Sodexo Global Chef tour
Written feedback from residents was very enthusiastic stating “The brisket was legit” and “The pumpkin pie was the bomb!”
Amazing effort by all the whole Sodexo team on site. The client and customers were very impressed with the effort put into making the night a real success.
