Renae Armstrong wins MERC Volunteer Award

Renae Armstrong wins MERC Volunteer Award

Congratulations to Renae Armstrong, who has been recognised for her selfless work behind the scenes at the Mining Emergency Rescue Competition (MERC) as ‘Volunteer of the Year’. Renae has participated in MERC since it’s inception, and enjoys “meeting many people along the way who are part of an event that not only showcases the teams but are also supporting different charities.”  We also acknowledge and thank Turing Franks, Chef at Boddington Sodexo, who volunteered his time at MERC on behalf of Sodexo.

“Renae has volunteered her time and skills for the past 8 years; both as a patient in rescue scenarios and as the backbone behind the MERC barbecue. The MERC barbecue is a fundraising venture and essential service to feed the many volunteers and team members who attend the event. Renae is always the first to put her hand up to help and coordinates everything from the staff to the catering requirements. Most recently, Renae has introduced Sodexo to MERC and her passion and dedication to the success of MERC has seen them come on board as a sponsor. Congratulations again on your well-deserved award.  We are so proud to have you as an integral part of the MERC family.” – Rikki Glen, MERC Event Coordinator

Sodexo is proud to sponsor MERC in support of safety in the mining industry and our local communities.
