Ice Bucket Fundraising support for Shane
Sadly, one of our own has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND). To help Shane with ongoing medical bills and the cost of lifestyle changes the Hamilton & Rail Camp team organised some fundraising activities.
The Rail Camp team held an Ice Bucket Challenge and a BBQ. After a sumptuous meal there were two challengers with one who offered to strip down bare if the donations got to $500, so the challenge was set. Not only did we get to the $500 set for his challenge, but we managed to raise a whopping $1540.
“For a small site I am so over the moon at the donations we have achieved and I’m sure Shane will be overwhelmed with the support. It not only raised awareness for a horrible disease but gave us all a chance to think of Shane and to toast to him and his family and wish him all the very best
In his long road ahead. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our residents for their extraordinary generosity and kind words for Shane and this noble cause.” – Scott Bydder Village Manager FMG Rail Camp 145
The Hamilton team also hosted a BBQ along with an Ice Bucket Challenge. It was good to see the team pull together for one of our own and help raise money. Particular thanks to Sarah and Stacey for coordinating the events. As it stands today we have raised over $4000.00
Shane is very grateful and moved by the love and support that has been shown by everyone.
