Gove Makes it or Breaks it for Servathon!
Awesome effort from the team at Gove who fundraised $1705.50 for Servathon while adopting some healthy lifestyle habits at the same time!
Research suggests that 21 days to form a simple habit, which is great news for those who work on swing shifts. Workers and health practitioners have said that FIFO employees were more likely to be overweight, drink to excess, and smoke. The reasons given for this included diet, boredom, difficulties finding the time to maintain fitness due to the nature of shift work.
That’s why the Gove team decided to incorporate health & wellbeing in their Servathon fundraiser, completing a ’21 Day Make or Break Challenge’. Everyone on the team pledged or got sponsored to make a good habit or break a bad habit over a period of 21 days.
Some 21 day pledges included:
- Stop online shopping
- Do yoga every day
- Quit sugar
- Daily exercise
- Stop gambling
- Give up cigarettes
Great job by Angela and the team. Every little bit helps and this is a great effort from a small team. Congratulations to the whole team for taking the initiative to not only raise money but to make a commitment to improve their personal health and circumstances by eliminating or reducing bad habits. Great initiative!
