Q: I have recommended Sodexo as an employer to a friend. They applied for a job and got hired. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: You are only eligible for a reward if you have submitted your friend’s details through the official employee referral process before they submitted their application and you meet all criteria mentioned in the guidelines.
Q: Who can I contact if I have any questions about Talent Spotters?

Q: I work for Sodexo and have referred a candidate who has worked for Sodexo before, but not at the time of the referral. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: Yes, you are eligible for a reward if the referred candidate (and former employee) is not employed by Sodexo at the time of the referral, as long as you meet all other requirements and you are not part of any group which falls under the reward exceptions.
Q: I have referred a candidate for a position I am directly reporting to (my direct manager). Am I eligible for a reward?
A: Yes, if you make a successful referral for a position you are directly reporting to, you are reward eligible if you meet all other requirements and you are not part of any group which falls under the reward exceptions. However, you must disclose the nature of the relationship to assess if there is any conflict of interest (eg. direct family member).
Q: I am not working for Sodexo but have referred a candidate for hire. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: No. We highly value any referrals, but only our own employees are reward eligible for successful referrals.
Q: I was working for Sodexo and have successfully referred a candidate. I left the company and am not working for Sodexo anymore. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: No. Both the referred candidate and the referrer must be employed by Sodexo at the time of the reward payment.
Q: I work for Sodexo through an agency and have referred a candidate for hire. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: No. As an agency worker, you are welcome to refer talent to Sodexo, but unfortunately, you are not reward eligible within the Talent Spotters Employee Referral Program.
Q: I would like to refer a friend to Sodexo, but I don’t know which position he/she would be suitable for. Can I refer my friend for a non-specific role?
A: If you are unsure about the role and workplace for your referral, we would recommend contacting your friend to find out more about their skills, experience, and preferences. These questions are not required but will increase the chance of making a successful referral. You can also visit our career page to get an idea of which roles are currently vacant.
Q: I have problems referring a candidate through the official process / I have technical problems submitting the online form. What can I do to submit the referral?
A: Please contact us at TalentSpotters.APAC.AU@sodexo.com and describe your problem, we are happy to assist you.
Q: I have referred a candidate to Sodexo. How will I know if my referral has been successful and if I am eligible for a reward?
A: We are keeping track of all referrals and will notify you as soon as your referral has been considered successful. Please note that we only contact you if you are eligible for a reward.
Q: I have referred a friend to Sodexo and they got the job! I also met all the criteria to be reward eligible. How will I receive my reward?
A: If the referral is successful and all criteria are met, the reward will be paid to the referring Sodexo employee split into three payments. An initial $50 will be rewarded to the referrer when the referred person first commences at Sodexo. The second and third part of the reward will be paid after the referred person has worked at Sodexo for 6 and 12 months respectively. All reward payments will be prompted automatically through our relevant reward system.
Q: I have referred a candidate through SmartRecruiters. Am I eligible for a reward if the candidate is hired?
A: The only referrals recognised for a reward when successful are referrals submitted through our Talent Spotters program. Referrals made within SmartRecruiters are not considered reward eligible.
Q: I have recommended a family member apply for a job with Sodexo. Am I eligible for a reward if my friend is hired?
A: You can refer a family member through our Talent Spotters program, prior to the application of the referred person. However, you must disclose the nature of the relationship to assess if there is any conflict of interest (eg. direct family member when referring that person to a position within your team).
Q: Do I need to pay tax for the reward I receive after a successful referral?
A: As the reward is considered a fringe benefit, we will take care of potential tax. Please be aware, that if fringe benefits provided to you exceed $2,000 in a fringe benefits tax year (1st April to 31st March), you will have a reportable fringe benefits amount (RFBA) which will be shown on your income statement. Managers/Employees with Leadership Responsibility
Q: I am a People Manager (employees report directly to me) and have referred a candidate for hire. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: As a Manager you are reward eligible for successful referrals if the candidate is not hired for a position within your line of responsibility (direct reporting relationship) and if you are not involved in or have any influence on the recruitment process.
Q: I work for Sodexo and have referred a candidate who will be working in my area of responsibility. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: No, unfortunately, you are not eligible for a reward if the referred candidate is reporting directly to you.
Human Resources Employees
Q: I work in the Talent Acquisition team and have referred a candidate. I am not involved in the recruitment process for the position that I have referred the candidate to. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: No. As a member of the Talent Acquisition Team at Sodexo you are not reward eligible for referring a candidate to Sodexo.
Q: I work in the Human Resources department and have referred a candidate for hire. Am I eligible for a reward?
A: As an employee in Human Resources you are reward eligible for successful referrals if the candidate is not getting hired for a position within your line of responsibility (direct reporting relationship) or as an HR Business Partner within your segment and if you are not involved in / have any influence on the recruitment process.
