‘Ready To Go’ Indigenous Employment Program

‘Ready To Go’ Indigenous Employment Program

The first group of “Ready To Go” participants have completed the program, are are ready to go! Trainees will be travelling to sites for a one week soft landing to experience on-the-job training with cultural and workplace support in place.

The Ready to Go Program is for Indigenous candidates who have previous work experience but have found it difficult to maintain sustainable employment. Participants may have been unemployed for a few months or taken time off due to personal circumstances. The program is designed to provide support and structure for individuals to get back into the workforce. Ready to Go is comprised of three weeks of training at TAFE, a physical fitness readiness program, followed by a one week soft landing working at reduced hours with a mentor and buddy system.

“The first group to complete the program has been a good mix of people from all age groups and backgrounds. The TAFE has been very impressed with their enthusiasm and commitment to the program. They are all super keen to get out on site!”
