NAIDOC 2019 Voice. Treaty. Truth

15 July 2019

It’s been an another eventful NAIDOC at Sodexo! From award ceremonies, to community events, marches, celebrations and flag raising ceremonies, there’s been plenty happening across our sites and offices around the country during NAIDOC week. Spanning from the Pilbara to Roxby Downs, and Darwin to Coffs Harbour, Sodexo is proud to have been part of these events all over Australia, showing our leadership and ongoing commitment to reconciliation as an Elevate RAP organisation.

Following this year’s theme of ‘Voice. Treaty. Truth.’ the focus has been on the nationwide reforms towards reconciliation proposed in the ‘Uluru Statement from the Heart’. We hope all of you have had a chance to read (or listen) to the powerful and aspirational statement directed to the Australian public. During NAIDOC Week, Indigenous Australians Minister, Ken Wyatt, pledged to find a consensus on constitutional recognition and hopes to hold a referendum within three years. This is very heartening progress towards Voice, Treaty, Truth.

“This is a truly important time for us to celebrate and build on the respectful relationships we share with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians.  I’m really proud to see our people embracing this opportunity in alignment with our clients and community.”
