St Mark’s gives thanks for fine dining
30 October 2017
Sodexo cooked up a storm last week for the first ever Thanksgiving formal dinner at St Mark’s College– and whet our client’s appetite for more!
Talking turkey, the College’s Master Rose Alwyn gave thanks in her feedback to the team:
“The dinner set a new standard in roast dinners – and indeed formal hall meals. The food was excellent – the turkey superbly cooked (and to do it ‘on mass’ is not an easy task) and the roasted vegetables were delicious.”
Chef Manager Colum Byron also set up a pre-dinner pumpkin carving competition for the college’s student residents. Colum sourced plenty of pumpkins, bought paring knives, and judged which pumpkin had earned its sculptor the first prize $20 voucher.
Although perhaps it was a (rather blatant) attempt to curry favour with the Sodexo judging team, we’ll still exhibit with pride the pumpkin (above) carved with “I love Sodexo”.
It’s surely the first time we’ve received such glowing consumer feedback in the form of a pumpkin!
After playing squash, students and staff sat down to their formal Thanksgiving roast – cooked to perfection by Colum and his team.
“Sodexo has shown us – indeed Colum, Josie and the team have shown us that it is possible to produce high-quality meals of an evening for the formal hall.”
Rose Alwyn, Master – St Mark’s College
