Community Sundowner event at Tom Price
In partnership with Rio Tinto and the Shire of Ashburton, Sodexo took part in the Community Sundowner at Kings Lake with over 800 local residents in attendance. This was an evening to bring the community together showcasing the best of the town with live music, local food vendors, community fundraising and a Pilbara sunset.
Led by Neil Burgoyne, Sodexo Community Liaison Officer, our teams worked hard to get the event site set up, landscaping and greening out the grass at Kings Lake, running lighting and power and providing support on-site during the event. The team was highly commended for their involvement and efforts.
“I would just like to say thank you, you have an incredible team here on the ground – everyone jumped in to do whatever they could to help us make this event a success.
It makes me so proud to do the job that I do in a community capacity where we can work alongside wonderful partners like Sodexo where we all join forces to create something pretty special for our communities to enjoy and bring everyone together.
We deliver events and activity in partnership with Rio Tinto year round to our Tom Price, Paraburdoo and Pannawonica Communities and we look forward to the possibility of further developing a relationship with you and your wonderful teams here in town as together when we combine resources we can create some pretty spectacular deliverables.
What a wonderful introduction to the Tom Price community of what Sodexo is all about. Thank you again on behalf of our entire team.”
— Amber Stevenson, Manager of Community Services, Shire of Ashburton
The Sodexo team on site engaged with locals at the event, offering information about town services, goodie bags and a chance to win a gourmet food hamper.
