Sodexo supporting bush fire relief
We stand in solidarity with the people and communities directly impacted by the bush fires and acknowledge all of the heroes fighting the fires and running emergency relief efforts across Australia.
We’ve taken measures to support employees who are impacted and give those involved in relief efforts paid volunteering time. Employees are generously donated their time and money to help out our communities and wildlife. Teams around the country have rallied together to set up fundraisers and volunteer at their local Foodbank to pack emergency hampers and prepare meals.
Sodexo Australia has made a donation $50,000 to the Australian Red Cross in support of the Red Cross Bush Fire Emergency Appeal. The Red Cross provides vital support to impacted communities, including safe places to shelter, psychological first aid, information and practical assistance and longer-term recovery programs in affected communities.
To further support the bushfire crisis response, Sodexo’s Stop Hunger Foundation has donated an additional $50,000 to Foodbank Australia. For every $1 donated, Foodbank provides $6 worth of supplies to affected communities. If you are in a position to support this cause, you can donate directly to Foodbank here.
We thank you for your Sodexo team spirit and community spirit during these challenging times. Thank you especially to our teams who have worked relentlessly over the holiday period to ensure the safety and support of our aged care residents in an emergency evacuation as conditions worsened throughout the country over Christmas and the New Year.
The Sodexo team continues to raise funds for Foodbank and services supporting the many affected communities. Our thoughts are with all impacted families and the incredible work of our emergency personnel and volunteers fighting the fires and contributing to the recovery effort.
