Ravenswood Halloween Ball
The northern Queensland gold mining town of Ravenswood has a small population, but it’s not quite a ‘ghost’ town! That is…. until Halloween rolls around.
Ravenwood’s Halloween ball is very much part of the town’s identity, and an important tradition dating back to the mid 1870’s.
250 Halloween revelers were in attendance this year to celebrate the spooky annual Halloween Ball with The Ravenswood State School runs the Halloween ball as their major fundraiser for the year, with live entertainment, games, and of course a costume contest.
The community event was proudly sponsored by Resolute and Carpentaria Gold. Sodexo supplied the fantastic cake and cupcakes, door prize, and also catered for the event.
Special thanks to Kara for going above and beyond her role to make the event extra special for the children in attendance. She was happy to volunteer her time during her days off to make the cakes and organise transportation.
