Sodexo Singapore partners with General Mills in record-breaking bake-off
In celebration of Singapore’s 50th birthday, Sodexo Singapore collaborated with General Mills for the Betty Crocker’s World Largest Cupcake Mosaic.
65 of our colleagues in Singapore took part in this record-breaking bake-off, held at Suntec City Convention and Exhibition Centre on 1st August 2015. In order to assemble the required number of cupcakes in time, our staff also baked cupcakes in our UWC (Dover & East), CIS (Lakeside) and TTS kitchens.
Along with volunteers from other organisations, we managed to bake a total of 29,610 cupcakes, creating a 133m2 cupcake mosaic that has set a new Guinness World Record!
Our staff also provided safety, logistical and operational expertise, contributing greatly to the success of the event.
In the spirit of giving, the cupcakes were distributed to the public and delivered to beneficiaries from various non-profit organisations.
Bertrand Rousseau, Regional Director Singapore, Malaysia & Indonesia, said: “As we celebrate Singapore’s 50th birthday, we hope that these cupcakes will bring joy to the local community, and contribute to improving their Quality of Life.”
Laurent Hochet, Operations Director, Sodexo Singapore, said: “I am proud of the team’s ability to create a new record in such a short amount of time. This was only made possible by their strong team spirit and drive to create something special to commemorate SG50.”
The giant mosaic was assembled with cupcakes made using mixes from Betty Crocker, the leading brand of baking mixes from General Mills.
