Recognising a prominent apprentice at Prominent Hill
L-R: Head Chef Nicholas Tadija, Village Manager Brigid Cook, Apprentice Renee Kropinyeri; Head Chef Santachris Maere.
Renee Kropinyeri commenced her Certificate III Commercial Cookery journey in September 2016, under the guidance of Head Chefs Santachris Maere and Nicholas Tadija. During this time, the Prominent Hill team, residents and client have had the privilege of seeing Renee excel in her trade journey. The highlight achievement of Renee’s first year was to win Silver in the Nestle Golden Chefs Hat Award in Adelaide – what an impressive effort! Renee is well on track in her 2nd year, with an estimated completion in July 2019.
This year, Renee received a Sodexo Service award for her outstanding performance assisting Head Chef Nick Tadija, after demonstrating with service of over 900 people. Renee showed outstanding initiative and resilience throughout this significant workload, that any qualified chef would be proud of.
“In my 14 years experience, I’ve not seen a second-year apprentice excel under pressure the way Renee has, and to execute the task at hand so well. Renee’s commitment to helping the team is second to none” ~ Nick Tadija – Head Chef Prominent Hill
Tafe SA Case Management will soon be visiting site, to assess Renee in various units such as safe work practices; working effectively with others; food handling practices and presenting dishes. This will complete the theoretical component of her contract, after which the practical component is to be endorsed by her Qualified supervisors. Please join us in congratulating Renee on her achievements and progress!
“Renee’ commitment to her journey has not been without occasional struggle, throughout she has given her best effort, not stinting in her willingness to try new ideas and work through any difficulties.” ~ Brigid Cook – Relief Manager Prominent Hill
