2016 IFAP Safe Way Gold Achiever Award

2016 IFAP Safe Way Gold Achiever Award

Following the 2016 IFAP/CGU Safe Way Achiever Awards held in Perth over the weekend, we are pleased to announce Sodexo has been presented with a Gold Achiever award. The assessment involved a review of our established safety management system, procedures and training and evaluation of our continual improvement processes.

IFAP, the Industrial Foundation for Accident Prevention, are an independent, not-for-profit organisation that has been leading the way in workplace health and safety initiatives since 1962. They are an approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO) regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). This year’s awards were presented at the annual IFAP Gala Dinner on October 21st at the Grand River Ballroom of the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth. Now in its 37th year, the Safe Way Awards commenced in 1979 as IFAP’s contribution to Western Australia’s proactive evolvement of safety in the workplace.

Safety is Sodexo’s number one priority. Our focus is on prevention which means we focus on lead indicators, identify best practice and implement controls to mitigate risk. This approach drives improvements by embedding a strong Zero Mindset safety culture, while at the same time reducing injuries and their severity. It is a culture that not only helps us to keep our people safe both physically and mentally, but one that adds value and improvement to our safety and performance outcomes.

We are truly honoured to have received these Safety Achievement Awards in recognition of our outstanding Safety Management System and safety performance which is a credit to all those involved. – Ria Smith, HSE Director Australia

Congratulations to the HSEQ team for all their hard work!
